So here is my good friend Sara. Some may recognize her from a series I did with the LC-A. I literally took only 10 pictures of her on this outing and these are the 10. Virtually untouched, except for dust and levels. Oh, and if you are wondering, she is carrying around my zenitar 16mm on a chinon.

what a doll she is with laughing eyes and a sweet, coy smile. i suspect her eyes and smile express her interior nature very well - and you captured that.
nos. 1, 6, 7 and last are the best, i think. i like the space you gave her.

Your friend has one of the most magnetic pair of eyes I have seen in quite some time. A portrait photographer's dream.

Any technical details about your photos? Camera lens film developer? Are these scanned prints or scanned negatives?

Beautiful work, Marc! Agree with Orio about her eyes.

Looks like a fun day Marc. She is magnetic for sure.
Don't be afraid to use the shadow and highlight filters with scans.
To me it is the same as using a contrast filter on vc paper in the wet lab.

Sara is certainly captivating. I really do need to take color photos of her, because if you guys think her eyes are magnetic now, try looking away after seeing them in their full blue glory. She is an ice-dancer currently for the Ukrainian national team (she's not Ukrainian, but her partner is). She may be going to the Olympics within the next few years if all goes to plan.

As far as technical details: All were taken with the Helios 40 from 2.8 to 5.6 except maybe the first which was closer, if not at, wide open. Ilford Pan 50 film developed for 7mins in Xtol 1:1 at 70 degrees. The Pentax ES asa speed was set to 25 to account for the reflectivity of the snow. Speeds varied but were always above 1/125th. These are negative scans done with the espon v700.

Here is the other set taken with the LC-A: http://forum.mflenses.com/lomo-zenit-labeled-lc-a-warning-lomography-style-t30104,highlight,%2Blca+%2Blomo.html

I thought it would be interesting to see this excursion from Sara's perspective also. She was using the Zenitar on the LED Promaster (identical to a Chinon CM-3) with XP2 400 film. I only did the quick and dirty scans. This is all her. It was her first time with this lens so a few fingers crept in front of that front element (which is not hard to do).
