San Vitale church located well below street level in Via Nazionale.
Insignificant from outside, surprisingly colourful inside.

Santa Maria Maggiore turned so orange in the setting sun that I couldn't cope with it otherwise than try the B&W version

Very nice, I've done several myself both here in Montana, and Hawai'i

outstanding photographs.
my fave is #2, ... it looks so empty, without people ... so very anti-Rome Wink
good play with light/shadows. very suitable for B&W and you show a nice conversion.

nr3 looks like a painting, ... !

I would love to see the photographs a bit larger, 600pix is a little small to see details ...

Cheers
Tobias

Hi Lena!
The San Vitale is my favourite.
Did you work only with JPG on your vacation,
or do you have the photos in raw/nef as well?

I always shoot in NEF format, D90 often goes crazy with WB, it's easier to correct a RAW file.

Great series, Lena.
Santa Maria Maggiore is my favourite, really remarkable B&W conversion and powerful viewing angle,
which communicates optimally the majesty of the cathedral.
Also congratulations for your perfect Italian spelling!

If my fascination with Italy continues, I will start working on the pronunciation as well Wink
