Bill, those footsteps are mine. I was about 3 miles south of a camp I
had made on the beach. I agree about the Provia colors - the late light
on the bluffs really shows nicely with Provia, without being too saturated.

supah: Could you expand what you don't like about the rendering?
Do you mean color, sharpness? This is how I learn, and perhaps it's
something in the "processing" from the scan.

Esox: I agree about the light. I am somewhat pleased with the edge
sharpness as well. Looking at the small sand and gravel on the left
lower edge, it seems to have retained sharpness that is comparable to the
middle of the image.

Thank you, supah! I am looking at the slide under my lught box,
with a 10x loupe', and it's quite sharp. I have a feeling that the
scanner might be at fault here, as there are parts of the image
that seem soft, in a sort of random way. It could be that the
scanner is not mounting the film very flat.
Again though, thank you! This has spurred me to try another
scan, this time with a different mount.

a good image. I am not sure I've seen a more beautiful beach. All
I had to do was point and shoot.
