This is a special effect I wanted to show you guys:

- it's a stiched panorama shot from my town of birth "Hallein" (near Salzburg).
- stiched from 25 landscape format shots.
- 5 rows of 5 photos.
- SMC K 135/2.5
- Pentax infreared remote control

- I started with first row down with about 2 seconds of shutterspeed. Then waited till it got darker (about 10 min.).
- second row with 10 seconds of shutterspeed, which created already more blur in the light of cars etc., but generally the second row should be underexposed in comparison with the first row
waiting
-third row about 20 seconds
etc. etc. etc.
-last row about 1,5 minutes.

So the main idea was to create the effect that it is nearly day down in the picture and nearly night in the top of the photograph.

It took me quite some time to get what I wanted, I had to climb this mountain several times Laughing

Thanks all !

@NikonD
Its's about 170MP due to overlapping of the frames.

I printed this one on 1,20 X 1,20 meters and mounted it on a KapaFix-light plate. Then I hang it in an restaurant in Hallein which is doing Art expositions sometimes.
Finally the town-museum bought it for their archives...

There is some posterization going on there.

An amazing image!

This is simply superb - my hat off to you! The fact that it's printed so large, shown in a Restaurant and finally sold to a museum certainly is the icing on the cake (don't we all want that?)

Again, bravo for the tremendous effort! Cool

That mountain looks pretty steep, Tobias! Did you have to drive in some
pitons and hang from a sling to shoot this? Laughing Fantastic job, BTW, and
a beautiful little town that is nicely hydrated with a river. Wink

It's all about this rock called "Barmstein" above the town, where I made the photograph.
There are 2 of this pieces of rock next to each other, with mainly same hight and difficulty to climb.

Problem was just, that it was night always when I finished shooting. So I had lights on my head to climb down safely with the equipment, tripod etc. Wink Cool Cool Cool
