I'm still hacking away at the SD-14 and SPP 2.5. I feel I am improving, but the learning curve is a tough one.
The valley is full of detail, and it is very difficult to minimize subject matter. So rather than try to narrow the landscape down, I decided to just let it go, and shoot for color and light values.
The SD-14 is simply wonderful for rendering the correct hues! So, I am pleased on that end. I'll post these for some comparison images for later in the season when things really start to explode in a sea of green. The web resizing has knocked down the resolution, unfortunately.

The Pacific North West coastal area is actually rain forest (temperate) and those greens of Laurence are for real. The foveon does an incredible job throughout the colour spectrum when it gets it right.

These files were quite large, and when trying to downsize to jpeg for the Web, I had to go to "Low Quality", even when "Save for the Web" settings. These won't compare to the originals out-of-camera.
The original X3F Raws came out to resemble some of my film shots in a big way. And this was one group where I simply didn't have to really do much at all to the Raw images, they seemed to stand up well as originally shot.
The saturation was stunning in the "real world", and the Foveon captured the various shades of green in a precise and wonderful way. It's always a "surprise" in March, when the first mini-explosion of green starts back up. The "main" explosion is in late May, and by then the chlorophyll is so rampant that the air itself tastes green!
