Hi Colleagues,

These are pictures taken by my daughter Mariona with the Regula CITA III.

As you migth recall, this specific camera has a problem: Cannot focus, (the focusing wheel doesn't move at all).

However, since the lens is set close to infinity, selecting an appropriate lighting (sunshine) and diaphragm, pictures can be taken, of a more than adequate quality.

I've opened a gallery for it:

Some samples:

I must admit that she's a much better photographer than I am.

You must be proud Jes:) Your daughter shows talent. Poilu is right you should give her a better camera and maybe a book. I have a niece who is showing great interest in Photography. It has been a lot more fun (for me) at our family events now. I have given her an old SLR (yashica of course). At first she was disappointed it was not digital. After one try in the darkroom doing prints, she's happy to have a film camera too. Fortunately some of our community colleges still offer "traditional" photography classes including wet lab. I'm afraid that will not last as young people don't always get an introduction to spark interest. Sad

Hi aj_rudy, Poilu, Attila, Andy and Bob!

Thanks for your kind comments! Smile

Yes, I'm very proud of her. She finished past year Graphical Design at the Uni and is helping me in testing some cameras. Now she's testing the Argus C3, and she has started enjoying the Yashica Electro 35, (that I've given her). So you were right, she desserves a good camera!.
I know her potential, so I'm trying to engage her in photography.
Hope this would be a good start...

Jes.

The 2nd photo is my favourite, I like these cold colours and simple shapes.

She's got a good eye!
Have you asked her to join this forum?

Thanks Bob and Carsten,
Yes, I've told her about the forum.
I suspect she's taking a glimpse on it these days.
She has just got a job, so she'll be pretty busy the next weeks...

Orio,

Yes, it is. All the pictures are from Barcelona. It changed a lot during the Olympics in 1992. That means you are ready for the next visit Wink...

For me, the first image with its diverging and converging spatial blocks is intriguing. Nice work!

1 and 2 are intriguing - strong geometrics and very abstract. The others are teaching about flare and contrast, so are valuable.

Nice to see that the camera is still valid and Mariona can take good pictures with it.

1, 2, 3 are the best for me. I could have told you that singing... Laughing
