Had this CLA'd and this is the first roll using Krogers 200 (Ferrania) film:

We've had lots of rain and these were taken up on Monte Sano, Land
Trust. I had other shots from the roll but the flare from highlights (sun
stabbing down through the trees, made them all dumpers).

I had a little better luck with another Olympus Stylus, Krogers 400 film:

This is my 3rd Stylus and has the Quartz Date and gold buttons instead
of silver. This is also from the first roll though it, got for $10 total, and
came with a good battery. Smile

Extremely beautiful colors on that third shot. Really, really nice!

Thanks, Laurence, it was one of those deals of remembering to pack a
camera when I was taking a long walk and noticed the contrast between
the green mailbox, red flag, and the greenery behind.

Thanks again.

Bill

Patrick and Tobias, thanks for your comments! Smile

Patrick, when it comes to green, Laurence is definitely the master. Wink

Poilu, the $10 camera was the Olympus Stylus (used in the 3rd shot). I
wish I paid only $10 for the Konica C35. Laughing I have a Rollei XF 35 that
is getting CLA'd in California and the voltage reworked to 1.5V, be another week.
Meanwhile I'm staring at the cover for it:

It has a 2.3/40 Sonnar lens. Wink

sorry Bill! I read your post too fast but I got my house under water and was quite tired
my remark was indeed for the quality of the 3rd shot that I rate quite bad
I will wait for the samples of the 2.3/40 with impatience!

I like the pebbles shot.
I have a sweet spot for that type of rainy subjects.

Poilu, I posted these 3 shots on my flickr, and hands down, the 3rd is
the most popular. It looks like it went fairly wide open to make the shot
and is soft in the corners. The bridge shot I think is the worst of the 3.

Poilu, hope you're all right and the flooding is sorted.

Orio, it was very wet in parts at the Land Trust and I was slipping and
sliding on wet rocks and this was one of those WTF moments with the
pebbles shot. Wink

Can't wait to try the Rollei XF 35!

Very Happy
still a very nice detail.
It's this kind of details that enrich a photo reportage of a walk or a trip. There should always be both the totals and the details, to give the flavour.

Hi Bill,

Nice to hear the lovely C35's are still in use. It was my second camera and the one that I remember more. Sharp lens and accurate light measuring, it was nice to use with Agfachrome 50.

Would you post a picture of the camera itself?.
Thanks!

Jes.

Jes and Attila, thanks for your comments. Here's a pic:

The camera can now use either LR44 or SR44 batteries which are very
cheap and easy to find.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the picture, it reminds me of some nice C35s in my store box...

As far as I know, the Konicas were using PX675 batteries, does this mean you did some kind of adapter or mod to adapt the new ones?.

Regards,
Jes.

Jes, I sent the camera to a friend in California who lives near a place
that does excellent work. They most probably used a resistor to choke
down the voltage from 1.5>1.35V. They did a beautiful job on the CLA.

I hope to improve my shots as they don't do their work justice! lol
