Inspired by Ron's [Schnauzer] beautiful landscapes, showing the
"lay of the land" in Maine, I thought I would post these snaps of
the opposite end of the American continent.

These aren't meant to be technically excellent; rather, they are
just to show the landscape of the woods at the very edge of the surf.
This is basically the guardian forest that survives in the spray zone,
and cuts down the erosion of the wind to protect the giant rain
forest trees inland. Sorry about the vignetting on a couple
of the images. I haven't taken the time to edit them. Confused

Beautiful as your shots always are Larry.

I think the last one is probably my favorite.

Isn't is amazing that in the States the Northwest and the Northeast have the most amazing landscapes?

My favourite is the third one, I love the composition in there.
It that a Monterey Cypress which I see in the background?

#1 is also good in a very difficult lighting situation. You nailed exposure perfectly and it really feels like being there.

You nailed it again Laurence. Lovely samples of our PNW terrain.

Wow, what a great place. I like the second one - my imagination is seeing all sorts of things in the silhouettes.

Hey Orio, no it's not a Monterey Cypress, it's a beat-to-hell Sitka Spruce that has been mangled by the forces of nature.

great landscape you're living in, Larry. Seems to be worth to travel there.
#3 is exceptional from composition.
Where is this exactly ?

Cheers
Tobias

First off, THANK YOU ALL! I love to receive feedback, good or "bad", it's all constructive to me.

Tobias, if you can get online and to a map of Washington State, this is on the west (coastal) side of the state on the Olympic peninsula. Specifically, this is a beach just north of Kalaloch along Highway 101. It is called Beach #1 - the various trails down to the beaches are numbered consecutively from Beach Trail #1 through Beach Trail #4. Not very imaginative nomenclature Laughing .
