Lens is sharp even at f/4.5 and there is no axial CA, like on many tessars. I like it Smile

great photos the first one stands out (good sharpens )
Does this lens come in M42 mount?

Yes, my copy is M42 (later version). There is exakta version, too. I can use it only on extension ring, because the rear part protrudes deeply into the camera body:

Great Sample shoots man!

I have that version also and the Pancake one as well.
The protrusion is a problem for the 5D also until the mirror is shaved.

Unfortunately, this lens is quite expensive here. I don't know why - it's slow, it can't be used on many cameras, it has no close-focusing capability, it has problems with vignetting at f/4.5 on full-frame camera... Maybe due to the 40mm focal length...

I think it's due to the amazing image quality.

Yes, tt has very good IQ, but I think 50/2.8 isn't much worse, but it's 4-8x cheaper here Confused

Love that first shot! For you bargain hunters out there, check out this:

Click here to see on Ebay

With such a low price, I can understand why free shipping wasn't offered. Laughing

As usual good lenses have no much quality difference , but this small piece can be $$$ This lens is well known from quality and pretty rare others Tessar is so common , cheap even if good one too.
