It happens that I've been collecting plastic caps from all kinds of discardable containers, mainly big plastic bottles.
Time has proved that I wasn't wasting efforts:

Found one that matches exactly the Contax/Yashica mount...

Regards.

Jes.

No problem, send me a few of these lenses and I'll be matching them with all the container taps that I can get. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Btw, Jes, what brand is that bottled water?

We need to create a stickie ...

which brand we need to buy.

Perhaps it is cheaper to buy these bottles and throw away the content, than to buy new rear caps.

Every nation has its brands and sizes, pretty hard to make a list of standards.

I've been doing the same but not found much apart from milk lids sometimes fit M42 (but with a much coarser thread) close enough.

I've found that many smaller lenses are just the right size to fit inside plastic pill bottles (the straight-sided ones with the snap-off caps) for safe transportation with a bit of bubble wrap below and above them. Everything from the Viv 19 to the majority of 135s fit inside. I can usually get a pair of 50s in one.
