A you might know, I live in a period of austerity, completely self-determined. I won't buy anything before I can sell something.

But this was just a small exception:

Minox 35 GL in very good condition with original box and manual, even the battery was included. (Color-Minotar 2.8/35 lens, lightmeter works)

And best part: I paid € 9,50 for it - including shipping!! Very Happy

What a nice little cam. I guess, this will be in my pocket often.

Looks a beauty, Carsten! Curious place for the battery cap but looking
forward to seeing some pics from this cam! Cool

And yes, what a bargain!

what year was this camera released originally?
It looks curious, the overall look is that of a 70s camera but the front "door" looks like a 50s' folder.

The first year this version (GL) was sold was 1979.
So my cam has been produced between 1979 and 1981.

The folder door is becauese of the immersible lens which is great because of this, this cam is such a compact gem.

One user writes that he has always been very satisfied with the results this little cam produces. He was presenting slide shows and was able to "mix" the shots taken with this Minox and the shots taken with his SLR and nobody realised! Very Happy

Here some links:

And just a quick snap with a film roll in order to show how small this cam is...

And yes, it does use these film rolls (135)!!

Is the Minox a Rangefinder or is it Zone Focusing. I never head one of thes but they look quite nice.

Neither RF nor zones, it has a real distance ring but you need to guess.

What a lovely little camera. I passed on one of those last week, thinking it would go too high - might even have been that one Laughing

Last weekend we went to Marburg Castle and I brought the Minox 35 loaded with a (cheap) Jessops Diamond ISO200 film in order to check if it is working. I mainly used hyperfocal settings.

Here are some shots:

Testing flare resistance. I kind of like the flares that this little lens produces...

And this shot has been taken by my 3-year-old daughter in the Botanical Gardens where we went afterwards:

I guess, I like this little Minox cam!

No, I have it done by a local lab. They are totally crap with medium format, but great with format 135 C41-development and scanning!

Very nice shots, Carsten!. Congrats for the acquisition.
My Minox 35ML has also given me a lot of fun, it was one of my first compact film cameras..

Kind regards,
Jes.

Nice lens on that, without a doubt. Wonder who made it for Minox?
Your daughter is definitely showing promise and you'll have to get her a digital cam now, else the cost of keeping her in film will bankrupt you. Smile
