You have been doing a lot of walking lately - I hope this means your health is good. Love those vineyards - your colours look to be a bit ahead of ours, but then you can make those lenses do anything you want Smile Smile Good to see you using some of those old warriors too

I also think that it is a very good glass, but I never mastered it as well as you do!

Thanks guys Smile We had the driest autumn in my memory and this influenced the colours. The grass is yellow like in Africa Sad

Carsten, I rate the Jupiter-37 better than the CZJ Sonnar; both are very sharp but the Jupiter has better colours and more contrast.

Well, it's about the cheapest lens buy you can get... probably only the Helios-44s come cheaper!
But... the quality is far from cheap!
So it's a definitely recommended purchase.

Curious...did you use the warming filter?

I adjusted WB on the second shot to bring out more the autumn colours.
The J37 gives a slight warm cast to photos by default. This is good for film use. Not really important for DSLR.

I am a huge fan of warm colors...very appealing to my eyes.

Great lens and great photographer! Smile

I also prefer Jupiter over Sonnar, mainly due to the pre-set aperture and round iris, which really makes difference.

I have version 37AM MC, which is the latest (1993) and possibly most rare, but even the 37A from 80' can be found with MC.

Anyway, all of them are pretty sharp - I think the difference between the versions is in the coating. The early version of 37A with white lettering and CCCP quality mark has deep violet coating, later version of 37A with coloured lettering has sligtly less impact on color temperature, 3rd version (37A) added MC and the last version 37AM has always MC (but newer formula - different colours. I'm not sure, but it seems to me, that it's also less prone to coating marks)
