It's truly a superb lens and just for fun, I thought I'd share my very
favourite Planar on an old RTS...

@biggles3: Not really!! You don't have that one, have you?

After seeing all these shots, I need to get such a lens now! Darn!
Thanks very much, guys! Mad Wink

If you cannot have a golden Planar, how about a golden bike?

btw, this was shot by a Planar 50/1.4.... Very Happy

I still haven't received a c/y to EOS adapter so I'm just playing with it by holding it in front of the cam, but I can't stop myself from posting a shot or two here... Razz

1. a quick landscape shot nearby my home. @f8

2. my grandpa, @f5.6

Now, these shots are not that great I know, but I'm just blown away by the details that this lens produces. It's kills me to have to resize it to web size because it's so great to watch in full res. Laughing

This is a 100% crop of my grandpa on the shot above:

It's just insane. Twisted Evil

AMEN!

The only thing I like better about Leicas are the colors ... love the colors!

And there's something so smooth about the image shot with a Leica ...

Zeiss are very sharp but sometimes I don't want a razor sharp image ... I just want to know that if I want the details, it's there, without slicing my retina at first sight Laughing

Talkin from a personal taste/hobby shooter perspective so save your cudgels for the next in line Laughing

I switched from CZJ zebra's to all Contaxes and I don't regret it for a moment.

Just some testshots with Planar 1.4/50:

All shot wide open or 1 stop down and handheld

Maybe we can do sticky posts on all of the different Contax lenses?

Looks like something you'd wear around your neck on a gold chain!

OK, I have to ask, how much better is this lens than the 50/1.8 HFT.

here is one using a Soligor 2x/macro converter on the Planar 50/1.4. This converter was with a Contax camera set I bought in Germany. Very nice piece of glass. Handy to have a tele and macro convereer in the same package. It sure beats working with rings.
