Great images Andy. The C-Biogon indeed when used wide open has a classic (should I say retro?) feel that I like very much. Stopped down is very sharp as your pictures prove.

My favourite is #5 but I suspect that the subject might have played a role in my preference Laughing

Beautiful shots! Have you compared this with 25/2.8 and 35/2? Are they very different in drawing style?

Thanks Guys. It's a great lens I hope you all will try it.

I have compared with the Biogon f2 version. To my aging eye I can see no difference in performance.
The F2 version is of course on stop faster but also much larger. This c version is much more practical IMHO.
I think the c version has better 3D but that is my opinion and not based on a side by side comparison.
If I need speed I need faster than f2 so now I use the Nokton f1.2 in those situations.
I have used the Biogon 25mm Aleksander. The color and contrast are similar. The character is not comparable due to the wide angle of view and great DOF from the 25.
That 25 is the sharpest lens I think I have ever used period. That said I don't have one currently.
After 2 tries with two different lenses. Mechanical problems had them both go back to Zeiss where they now stay. Rolling Eyes

Stan I think it was just a cheap Mexican made guitar that my friend did a lot of work to. He is an enthusiast as you are.
That guitar was one he got while in high school ( he is my only friend from HS I stay in touch with regularly).

All are excellent, very natural ones. Nice to see you on last one Smile

Again great samples Andy. I see in your photos the same great clarity of details and "natural air" that I feel in my photos with the Biogon 2/35.
Really the rangefinder wides have a clear edge over the retrofocal ones, this is my opinion. It is a joy for my heart whenever I get to use a Biogon, whether it's the Z version or the Contax G Biogons. All of them, are excellent - not to mention they are milestones in the true history of wide angle photography.

Thanks again Guys.
Orio it is truly the one lens I could live with solely for RF photography.
I loved the f2 version as well but the size here and near identical performance takes the prize.
The Biogons are true gems at the price. Some here may say expensive but, I would take this one lens over a "collection" others.
Here is a a sample from the oversize gallery that is artistically flawed but shows rather well how much spirit the Biogon has.

Really great images!

I esp. like the last three in the first post and #1,#2 and #4 of the second set.

very clear results - a close-to-reality-lens.

Love the lady portrait very much ... and the other samples are not worse too Wink

Cheers
