An excellent 200, to be sure. Black and white conversions look amazing. I've been using it for landscapes and cityscapes mostly, with wonderful results. |

Extremely rare lens indeed + supposedly fewer than 1000 copies made.
I would be very interested to see some images from this lens.
Perhaps a special thread just for it.
Thank you for sharing

An excellent vintage lens for animals. Very little CAs (less than many contemporary "APO" or "L" lenses) and excellent center resolution, but considerable field curvature.

STEINHEIL CULMINAR 2,8/85mm in Leica thread mount

That was one (if not the!) first lens i bought myself, at the age of 15 ... At that time i used to take pictures with my mothers Leica IIIa and needed a longer lens for the girls
Sadly the aperture soon thereafter disintegrated, and i moved on to my fathers Mamiya ZE, equipped with the Sekor 3.5/135. About one year after the Culminar 2.8/85mm i bought the Sekor E 2.8/135mm and the Sekor E 4/200mm, along with the 1.4/50mm and the 2.8/28mm.

A Coligon (Komura) 200 3.5, very pretty. Fairly lowish contrast images from this lens, probably typical of most lenses from the period. The 'TY' on the name ring is interesting, usually Komura lenses for Soligor and Miranda had a 'Y' serial number, but there are reports of 'TY' serial coded Miranda lenses (http://miranda.s32.xrea.com/miranda/MSJ_html/lens/standard_lens_2.html#a) (open with Chrome to get translated page) |

Actually had this lens for some time, an unusual Sun Hi-Tele 200/4, the Hi-Tele name was generally only used for zoom lenses. I've searched further for other focal lengths or even another copy like this, but nothing has thus far eventuated. Apart from the Hi-Tele moniker the lens also shares the straight bladed 8 leaf aperture and the impeccable build quality (IMO superior to almost any of its contemporaries of that time, even from camera makers) of other Hi-Tele marked lenses. The IQ is decent, although I have other lenses that shade this one.
A 100% crop from a stitched photo. Decent resolution, a small amount of red fringing on the high contrast edges of the lamp posts. |

While at home I have been going back over the last 2 years of aquisitions and decided to post a few of the more interesting ones here. This Fujita 400/5.5 features different styling from their earlier lenses, and is only rarely seen for sale, although I see one on ebay now badged as Rotar. |

This late Komura lens defintely takes the title for the largest 35-70 lens I've seen. Pictured with the previous title holder, the Soligor/Kobori 35-70/2.5-3.5 for comparison. |

I found this camera on an Australian for sale website, and had it sent to my sister in Queensland, who then gave it to my Father to bring home when he visited. A week or so later the 1.8 version went up on a New Zealand auction website and I was the only bidder. The 1.4 lens has a minor haze which doesn't show in use. |

These lenses were sold with the Wards SLR-600 camera, which was a rebadged Yashica J3/4. This is an identical lens to the Yashica 5cm F2, but badged with the makers name instead of Yashica. There is one on ebay now for a very high price, but sometimes they appear for auction with quite reasonable starting prices. |

A pair of Autoflex brand 50/2.8 lenses. No prizes will be given for guessing the maker of the right hand lens. The left hand lens is notable for having front cell focussing, raising the possibility of bubble bokeh at certain focussing distances perhaps. |

This F-mount lens can be found cheaply, although you need to construct your own adapter to use them. |
