A very rare and insanely sharp and contrasty lens, right from wide open. However, it does show some purple fringing in certain circumstances.

Please note: the camera registers f/1.8 as f/1.7 and this is reflected in the EXIF.

It's nice to see photos from this lens. Very impressive. Whenever I search eBay for a 135mm f/1.8, I'll usually get hits on this lens. I think it might just be one seller. Cuz the lens is always priced well above what the Sony/Zeiss sells for.

Gorgeous photos from Peter, as always!

One of my dream lens that I think I will never have due to the rarity of the lens (the current collector price is unreachable Smile ).

Very nice samples but I wonder how much post processing was applied? If they all taken wide open and completly auto processed then it is indeed an impressive lens.

Auto processing is an utopia. However:

- I shoot only in RAW
- I tend to repair clipped highlights and crushed blacks
- I apply moderate levels adjustment (not with this lens though)
- I always sharpen after resizing (this is a MUST for web viewing)

Things I never do:

- Fiddle around with the colors (so I keep off the vibrancy etc. sliders)
- Try to remove CA or PF
- Create things that weren't there in the first place
- No fancy filters or whatever are applied

Take shot #9 (which was shot wide open as the exif proves). Especially that one got almost no PP as it was not needed at all (heck, the lens is sharp and contrasty right from wide open!)

Excellent photos Peter, and really a dream lens you are displaying. Is it manual or autofocus?

Thanks Klaus & Orio!

Orio, it's a MF lens. You can view a picture (and other details) of it here: http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/lenses/primes/tele/A135f1.8.html
