I'm somewhat late to this thread, but I agree with Lawrence, I think this is the nicest. The Asahi-Kogaku Tele-Takumar135/3.5 is close behind it. However, as someone said, it is tough to pull off a 235mm as "prettiest" lens. I think the prettiest telephoto of all is the Carl Zeiss 8.0cm f2 Biotar in Asahiflex m37 mount.

I still feel that the first version 135/3.5 Takumar (pre-set) has a
beautiful amalgam of chrome and black "beauty rings".

As it comes down the runway, you'll notice the pelerine of the
chrome mount, highlighted by the classic Pentax styling for this lens.

The crowd can only gasp at the beauty, and the paparazzi goes
wild in the trenches as the camera and lens swirl at the end of the
runway and regress back to the main stage, confident in beauty
and modest in function. Laughing

I modified my opinion.

Now, after seeing all the examples posted here, I like ALL the 135 mm.

I want to have all these precious 135 mm.

Before, my interes was 50/85 mm range. Now the 135 come too.

Not sell lenses anymore (I hope).

Rino.

Wow. The hood makes this lens! It would be great without it. It is awesome with it.

Who know the difference between this lens and Angenieux 135mm f2.5, please tell me too. Laughing

Samples form Angenieux 135mm f3.5

My vote goes for the Angeniuex.. want to find one of these ..! Shocked
Its a nice looking lens.

My favourit lens in this range is my Leica Elmarit 2.8/135mm II as Orio already did say.

Cheers

Just as a short remark at the side: is is necessary to quote the whole post with all the pictures?
This makes it hard to read and follow this thread.

Done Very Happy I apologize for any inconvenience. Usually I am editing quotation and remove unnecessary part of post. In this situation I thought that KhanX samples are so nice that it is nothing wrong to show them again instead posting crappy samples from my Angenieux Very Happy But if it bother you so much... I will do my best to follow this rule as everybody does Laughing

For some of the beautiful Steinheils in black with chrome stripes, got to Captain Jack's page and scroll down to them including the black with chrome striped 135mm.

In terms of camera porn I always had a liking for the chrome Canon 135mm f3.5 for its rangefinder series of cameras - come to think of it, it is a pretty good lens, optically as well.

My 135 MF favorite is the Soligor 135 f/2:

My all-time favorite is the Nikon 135 DC f/2. The soft-focus possibilities of the DC adjustment is wonderful.

Orio wrote:
135mm, in general, are not the most beautiful lenses, in my opinion. They could actually be considered amongst the ugliest, because many of them look too long compared to their diameter. I think aesthetically speaking, the 90mm lenses are more beautiful.
If I had to choose one 135 for it's looks I would probably pick the Elmarit-R 135, second version, as it's larger diameter makes it more well proportioned.

for me in sud-tirolo ... I haven't had the requirement to use a 80-90mm…. always I use 50 or 135 or 200mm... it depends !
in general I always try to separate my principal subject from the rest of the landscape....
I think that 80-90mm for me it is too much short ... because often the mountains are far away from me....
a small principal subject in the picture will be often faded....specially if the subject is a mountain....

I have to vote for 2 135mm lenses:

- Nikkor Q-Auto 135mm F3,5:

- Mamiya Sekor SX 135mm F2,8:

Greetings
