I have both the M42 MC 135mm f/3.5 and the C/Y MMJ 135mm f/2.8 (non-destructively converted to M42 mount). I admit that the f/3.5 has fallen into disuse after I got the f/2.8, but it does have a major benefit over most other vintage 135mms: close focusing down to 1 metre, in a small package.

(The superb Steinheil-München Quinar 135mm f/2.8 also goes to 1 metre, but it's a huge lens for a 135mm. Even has a tripod socket!)

I thought this thread was about the most beautiful (i.e. in terms of looks) lens, not the best performer.

Though 10mm short for the topic's title (I beg all of your indulgence on this one), the Voigtlander 125/2.5 APO is a masculine, slick-looking lens aside from its legendary performance, with a satin black body, brushed chrome focusing ring and enameled color ring accents mid-lens and at the hood mount. The bayonet-mounted square lens hood adds an unmistakable retro/cine quality to its appearance.

I am not familiar with every lens on the list but an attractive one is the Sun YS-13 - silver and black with blue coatings. I like the CZJ Zebra Sonnar too.

Also my personal favourite in terms of sexiness.

The Jupiter-11 4/135 in either chrome or black is also kinda sweet, but the Steinheil has that certain "va va voom" Wink

I'm sure the new Zeiss Sony 135/1.8 beats it easily, but there are much better looking lenses.

I like the look of DSG's Sigmatel Multi Scalematic with the neon green, but the CZJ triotar from BRunner looks much better to me. So far the absolute winner for me is the Asahi-Kogaku Tele-Takumar135/3.5.

Four 135mm lenses to compare - with the same body.
Difficult to decide.

Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 2.8/135

SMC Pentax 1:2.5 135mm

Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Orestor 2.8/135

Leitz Elmarit-R 1:2.8/135

Yes, it is really nice.
Impossible for me to mention this one as this is the first time that I hear of Bittco. Wink

But I stay on my first position...
The most beautiful 135 is the silver Steinheil München Tele Quinar 2.8/135, especially with its hood. Smile

I dont have any 135mm but I am a Pentax user and lover, for my own visual taste of the body and overall design I lhave 5 list to comment and I think they are beautiful as far as for photography and its looks like they are designed for photography instead of for luxury or table/shelve display.

Of all the lenses in the poll, I voted for the 135/3.5 CZJ MC. But I like the Nikkor 135/3.5 more for its looks.

And finally.... what about the Carl Zeiss 135/2.8 for Contarex?

Here shown on a NEX-5N, it can only be used on digital mirrorless cameras due to the aperture mechanism that needs a substantial adapter (the aperture ring is part of the adapter, not the lens):

I kind of like this Spiratone 2.8

And this Rikenon 2.8 is kind of butch Laughing

Is that the same Rikenon as here: http://allphotolenses.com/lenses/item/c_1015.html ?
Seems like Makinon lens to me. Thus i wondered if it's only label misfit or real re-branding. The one on the link is labeled "P Rikenon" which is really strange.

How the 135mm f2.3 Vivitar Series 1 Lens did not Immediately come to mind for anyone making such a beautiful lens Poll list, is beyond me. Such a sexy looking lens.
