I guess I have to reaveal a secret, I know Dr Tronnier and I appreciate the fabulous work of his father, which stands in line with Dr Bertele's, Prof. Glatzel's, and Prof. Wynne's designs - all persons I rate very high and who's work I appreciate since years. And I collect their products (lenses) and shoot with them.

Now I REALLY want to see the samples!

I think, you like to hear:

165 line pairs/mm? Shocked Shocked It's worth buying it just to hold it in the hand as a fine piece of engineering.

Indeed, it is the older, rarer and much better version you got.

Q: how do you know which one is older and which is newer?

Absolut nachvollziehbar, diese Liebe, - in meinem Österreich-Schul-Englisch:

Absolut understandable, this love, that´s the highest level, I would be proud, beeing an owner of an ultron.

Please send us some pictures.

Look at the given Webside: http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Bessa_RF_histo_dt.html
The "newer" Voigtländer which was produced in Singapure has another design and it doesn´t have the typical concave frontlens.

oh my bad, missed that link. Thanks Retro for the pointer!

Just quick shots using a D200 and the Ultron @f1.8 with tungsten light [can't step down, need to fix sth with that M42-Nikon adaptor first, to make more tests...]

drying rose:

100% crop

candle

100% crop

silk plaid

100% crop

fabric

100% crop

...now I know once more why Dr Tronnier has that reputation and I finally have to make an adaptor for this...

...the Super Farron f0.87 76mm also designed by him (guess his most famost lens, except the Apo-Lanthar of course...)

I have no problem , perhaps you have some trouble with your internet connection.

That Farron looks really nice!

First pic of the roses is really interesting to me, the soft and even transitions to oof areas are so smooth.

This is Weinheim, right?

I think I recognize it. My dad used to work as a representative for Freudenberg and he got his company car from a vendor in Weinheim. We combined picking-up the new car with a family day-out. But now he is retired, so no new company cars any more. Sad

Well recognized! Yes, from our appartment we have a nice view to both castles and down to the pedestrian zone - very convenient when it comes to going out to eat or do shopping, all in walking distance.

So let me do a bit to enhance the tourism industry... Wink

That's nice, indeed! We used to have that when we lived (without kids) in the Old Town of Marburg. Now it's a 15 min drive to the city, but for our kids the garden is more important (and I only need 7 min to drive to school). Wink

It's a shame that my dad does not longer pick-up a new car every second year. We could have met easily otherwise...

Looking at your photos, I think the quality of that lens is quite well.
But I would strongly give you the advice, to use a hood.
Especially wide open the contrasts would be much better.

Retro,

do you REALLY believe that I would shoot without a hood after 42 years of photography ...

Deutscher: Du musst in Zukunft eine Sonnenblende benutzen!!

I guess the f5.6 obviously is the >sweet spot< of that famous lens.

didn't really come out, 900pix is not enough to show that unfortunately...

Klaus, have you seen that guy looking right at you?

In the next pictures he tells the other person: "Hey, there's a weird guy over there who is taking our photograph with an old, shiny lens!"
And the other one goes like: "Not really! Where?"
