Maybe it's time to form other clubs (Helios, Jupiter etc)

LL, what you see is 5D !
As you can see, edge and corner performance are excellent.
With bright highlight contrast, there is some colour aberration - but we have to keep in mind that at the time of this lens, photography for 99% of people was 99% black and white!
The day today was dull so not really the best light to make this lens shine. I hope for better testing in the weekend.

Maybe, but it didn't really affect me when I bought the lens.
I really liked its performance, but for some reasons I always have preferred the Jupiter-9. I have never regret to have bought the Trioplan, though!
Today, my fav short tele is without doubt the Nikkor 1.8/85. So another strong competitor in this range. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

A little bit blemished on the metal, but the focus and aperture are silky smooth and the glass is clean. _________________ Dave - Moderator

@Orio. I wonder just how old it is - I suppose information on the Meyer serial numbers is around somewhere. _________________ Dave - Moderator
