Surprisingly great weather today, so I grabbed my Lumix GH1 + Cooke Kinic 1" lens attached. All shots fully open...

(thanks to Sebastien for bringing me that lens to my attention!)

BEWARE: Swirlies overdose!

Russian lenses like Helios 58/2 and 85/1.5 are far behind this lens for the bokeh Shocked

I wouldn't say "behind" - just different! It is quite an interesting effect, but I would not want too much of that... Wink

even if I am not a fan of swirly, I am impressed by the induced motion and the contra light performance is not for smile at all Shocked

Indeed, the contra luce performance, center shaprness + contrast and lack of CA is amazing for such an old lens (it is the later coated one I have, though).

Alice going down the rabbit hole Shocked

Klaus did you ever fit that Canon 25mm c mount to the GH1?

Interesting lens for sure. Not my cup of tea, but like poilu says, it gives remarkable performance.

Not possible unfortunately Andy, except for macro.
The rear barrel is way to thick to allow for that (same with my 0.85 Fuji)
unfortunately and a bunch of others I had already...
(and machining them down is not always wanted or posiible depending
how the lens is mechanically made - 37mm is the max. rear diam.)

@Orio: well I have to try "old style" portraits too, with a less "messy"
background the lens will behave much differently.

I haven't seen something like this before, pretty wild rotation feeling Smile

An extreme and interesting effect.
The usage of this lens is similar to the usage of a fisheye lens.
For particular occasions, it's great but it's a very special glass.
