really neat perspectives. the more i see of the taks the more i like. do you notice any generic IQ differences among the SMC, the super taks, and the regular taks?

My favourite pianist, Sviatoslav Richter, used to play on a Yamaha, which he would bring to his concerts. Nice shots as always from you Spottie

That's hard to tell. There's a big difference between the 50's and the 70's Takumars. Most lenses of the 50's were of an interesting design, like the 58mm f/2 Takumar I have used here, which has a Sonnar design (the only 35mm slr standard lens ever of that design).

The early single-coated Takumars are not that contrasty and sharp, but (imho) often have a better bokeh. The S-M-C Takumars are the sharpest and most contrasty lenses, but not necessarily as good in other departments (bokeh).

One thing is for sure: no Takumar has ever let me down in the mechanics department, while 90% of the CZJ lenses I have bought were (partly) defective.

83mm Tak pictures are stunning, stunning hard to imagine better ones, I especially like first one.
