Gotta love the Takumars... Virtually indestructible, even after 40 or so years! Thanks for posting the nice portraits...

The sharpness is actually great. And even on other sides it's a great lens. Though on an italian photography forum there was a couple of guys saying that the the out of focus rendition of this lens wasn't good mainly cause they saw exagons in some shoots Laughing

The Google translation is a bit "basic" xD

First picture is perfect IMHO.

For this type of photos sharpness isn't the most important thing, more important is the smooth and rich transition of tones and your Tak delivers plenty.

My youngest daughter is now 39 and she still doesn't like me shooting a photo of her!! LOL Great photos and a beautiful model. I have this lens and should use it more but somehow the newest lens gets the most use and they are coming one lens every month or so...Oh well.

my jungest grandchild is 86. and she dislikes it when i come to the nursing home to do photo sessions with her sitting on the bedpan. i don't know why?

i love the 1.8/55er tak. it was my first mf-lens. i bought it a month ago. and as you can see in my sig ...it infected me!

Well ... look at the bird in the full size version of this picture Smile

Granted, this is at f/8, but this is very sharp, to my eyes!

Taken with the 55/2, but that is technically the same lens as the 55/1.8
