I was cursing the lack of a shake reduction lens or camera yesterday when I thought I'd lost a couple of decent shots, but Focus Magic pulled them back from the bin. Not 100%, but viewable at a smaller res.

Using Tamron SP 60-300 at maximum wobble.
This is a crop of how bad it was...

This is after cleaning up...

You get 10 saves as a trial - I'm not sure if the full version saves as the same size jpeg as gets put in, this one didn't.

I use a similar program, Focus Fixer, for my work.
I would not use it for my own photos though, because I don't like the artifacts it generates.
But if you need to make an unuseable photo, useable, for your job, it's magic.

I'm quite impressed with it, and am now trying to find a freeware app to do the same thing. I expect a f/w one to be a bit clunkier to use, though.

Hummm, looking at the picture, quick question, Dave: Has Heath Ledger's
sainthood been approved by the Vatican? Just curious... Wink

This is interesting.

It seems to give an interesting - more apparently detailed - look to web-sized jpg's.

My not quite focused and moving bears -

After focus and motion adjustment -

It might need a bit of despeckling now.

I much prefer the first image, Luis.

I reckon the usefulness of this type of software for rescuing images that are absolutely needed and unrepeatable. But I prefer to see a little blur than the consequences of the software's action.

I do agree with you Orio, at least from my perspective.

However, I wonder what Joe Public would pick? Someone who might not be as interested in purity of images might just pick the second ones because they stand out.... Confused
