Thanks for sharing. Never know Spiratone 100mm/2.8 macro exists. Looks like a Sigma XQ?

Cool. I love these old Spiratone ads. Brings back fond memories. I've always felt that Spiratone was the JC Whitney of photo gear. For those of you who don't know what JC Whitney was, they were the Spiratone of auto accessories. I especially liked their VW catalogs, since I owned VWs back in the day.

Like 1 Like 1 I bought VW parts for several rebuilds from JC Whitney...damn, cars were so easy then, eh? They were good source for Jeep parts and custom kits.

i did not realize they did so much stuff. but it was not till 1978 to 80 that i got into photography,
its an interesting read i used to always read all the adverts in the Amateur Photographer (UK mag) then the advert part of the mag was 2 or 3 times thicker at least than the articles..
what happened to spiratone ? i am guessing they declined over the years and got bought out

Spiratone has a Facebook presence, in which the son, I think Jonathon Spira, posts various lens-related articles of the 70s and 80s.
