Here's people finally! Laughing

The financial crisis hits hard the gondoliers too: no jobs: Shocked Rolling Eyes Laughing
#1 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

Another unemployed gondolier:

Monica and the Republic's Lion:
#3 - C Sonnar 1.5/50 ZM

An attempt by Monica of using my M9. Focusing? Revisable Laughing
By the way, you can see how small is my camera bag when I go on vacations Wink:
#4 - C Sonnar 1.5/50 ZM

Historical Cafés of Piazza San Marco: Caffé Florian:

Historical Cafés of Piazza San Marco: Caffé Lavena:
#7 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

Now this really surprised me. I stopped to photograph that old photo shop sign on the top,
and I surely expected to be the only one person so hopelessly sick to be wanting to photograph that sign
in a city full of breath-taking sights - but to my surprise, I noticed that a woman was taking the
same photo that I wanted to take! Shocked Old camera freaks are maybe more than we would think! Very Happy
#8 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

Ferrari shop. The F1 car not for sale, my guess Laughing :
#9 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

Acrobatic landing :
#10 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

Multi-ethnic generation :
#11 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

Tourists and Pigeons: who's outnumbering whom? Smile :
#12 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

A curious reaction to Piazza San Marco's sight (heavily cropped) :
#13 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

The Spanish girl with the camera at left is probably wondering why I'm the only guy
who is not pointing the camera at the lagoon Laughing but the sunlight was even better than the landscape:
#14 - Snapshot-Skopar 4/25

A water taxi station must obviously feature a fuel stock (water bottles) Laughing :
#15 - Biogon 2/35 ZM

Gather round gentlemen, naked female legs for all ages! This is the kind of Venezia snapshot that you don't want to show to your wife Laughing :

Another great set Orio. Hard to pick a favourite, but 14 is rather stunning.

Absolutely beautiful hoolidays photo journal ,Orio !
Thank you for sharing this . I had planned a 3 days trip in Venezia in mid september , but It seems that my body needs some service on fixed shedules ...so , I'll have to pospone this .
Not so much tourists there , ...did you specially avoided the hugest crowds or they really are less than usually ? And unemployed gondolieres?! Shocked did they lowered the prices ,at least?
By the way , you're looking far better than the lion Laughing Nice photo !
My compliments to your lady !
A gallant gesture from you , that trip to Venice , and especially taking such a small photo bag Laughing

Thanks guys. Smile

Teo, that's the crowd of that day, maybe there was some more packed around the cathedral but more or less that was it,
like I said August is not high season for Venice, it is more crowded in early autumn and in spring.
(it was a Monday however, so the weekend's "hit-and-run" tourists were absent).
You will go there after your therapy, Venice looks great in any time of the year, actually I am a fan of Venice in the winter,
I think that is when it looks best - both because of the winter lights on the lagoon, and because the tourists are dressed and they
don't make Piazza San Marco look like a tacky beach club with their flip-flops and bikinis Laughing

Arkku it's a nice handy little bag Smile Not 100% happy with the way the zip closes, but I can live with that.
It looks elegant too, so appropriate for a city trip.

I only close the zip if it's raining, otherwise I have the flap with the zip rolled up out of the way with the velcro strap.

Nice one again! Best from all Monica shoots to me. You did loose a lot of your weight , don't know should I worry or congrats ?

Second Poilu's remark, you have definitely lost some weight! Shocked Every shot here is a keeper,
I'm selling all my gear now. Laughing I'm thinking this set is my fave in the series. Cool

2,3,4 and #14! Would like to see a BW conversion on 14.

Gosh, Orio! You have lost some weight!! Shocked Wow!

Thank you for those wonderful images.
I write here, because although I really like all your shots, I think that the ones with the people are the best series.
A city lives because of the people and thus I think that street shots also live when people are shown.

I hope you had a great time in Venice!

Thanks guys! I have not lost that much weight, I still have my good belly, perhaps the pose helps hiding it Laughing

Lovely photographs Orio, in all the Venezia series - which give great insight in
town-life ! ... lot's of places that I remember from my visit 3 years ago.

Superb gondoliere-photo which tells a lot from itself !

Cheers
Tobias

Thanks! In fact I'm very happy with that one (that's why I put it first in the series Wink )
I think I couldn't have arranged it better if I staged it! Laughing

Hard to believe that the 5th shots is just a snapshot. The whole scene looks as though you composed the scene and put everyone in the best location for talking the picture. I love how the lines of the shop windows and the wood in the upper area both lead the the viewer to the end of the picture with just a hint of light at the end.

Who says you shouldn't shoot into the sun? Very Happy That image is my favorite of all.

Even on the web like this, it's possible to get somewhat of a 'feel' of these fantastic lenses.
