I'm overjoyed by the use of this scanner. I still have to get the best grip on it (it's not an easy instrument, and you have to find the best settings with patience), so far I am 100% comfortable with B&W
and less than that with slides, because I still have to find a way to manage the colours better (the professional version of Silverfast has IT8 calibration with target,
but costs more than 300 Euros, so I bought the amateur version) but overall I am so pleased by the image quality, superbe detail, and most of all by the absence of those optical intruders
(newton rings, chromatic aberrations) that pestered my Epson Perfection 4490 scans.

Szentendre, Hungary, August 2007, shot from the boat on the Danube (Bessaflex TM camera, probably Rollei Sonnar 2.8/85 M42 lens):

Another one, still seeking for the ideal colour balance:

A very difficult slide to scan, result is more than decent I think. No Photoshop other than resize.
Shop in Szentendre:

Looking good, Orio! I see dark blue lines in the sky in the first pictures. Attila needs to be
more careful when he processes your slides. Wink Smile

Looks great to me. Nice "oldish" colors. If I would not have read that the photograph is from 2007, I would have though it's from the 60th or so ...

Cheers

Cheers guys. Unfortunately the labs are not taking their job seriously anymore, these slides are 5 years old and already with handling issues, the last ones I received lately are shameful to the point that I even considered asking for a refund.
About the colours, yes, these look quite oldish, I think these were not Agfa, I also had a few Kodak and Sensia with me. The colours of Agfa seem to last better, here's an example from the same vacation but different film roll, this one is Agfa, always scanned with the Reflecta (click on image for large size):

Nice one Orio! Somehow your "Shop in Szentendre" shot reminds me of my trip to Jaffa in Israel (or in general the markets there).

I see what you mean, in fact these closed markets look a lot "islamish" (if the strange word is allowed)
I personally thought of Algiers when I saw it.

I bought the same scanner a few months ago, and I could'nt be happier; before I used for years the Nikon ED LS 4000, until it died; but the Reflecta it's much better to me, sharp edge to edge (the Nikon was rather quicker, I guess thanks to a faster lens, wich means tighter DOF, so that a large part of the frame was OOF); I choosed SF light too, the bundled SW being a true shame.

You guys are making me jealous! Orio, that is some nice detail in the last scan.
