My first show-up in the gallery section... I bought a new monitor and had it calibrated. My previous CRT was suffering from "tiredness" Embarassed

Trichelbroek is a small nature reserve near my village. It's a typical swampy area (broek in Dutch), here shown in winter colours. Pictures taken with Takumar primes (20mm, 35mm and 135mm) and a Pentax K100d. C&C appreciated.

There are a few other pictures in a new gallery on my zenfolio site. I found these the best of the lot, but others may disagree.

1. De Laak (20mm, ISO200)

2. Broek (20mm, ISO200)

3. Low angle sunshine (35mm, ISO200)

4. Lifeless (35mm, ISO200)

5. Treeshine (35mm, ISO400)

They are all terrific fotomachi. I am very impressed also with those Taks, they seem very good ones. I think the picture I like most is #2 - it has a very "swamp" feel about it.

Nice shots. I like 4 and 5.

Four for its textural quality and highlighting of form.
Five cause the shadows from the trees are just neat.

very nice Smile the composition on #3, #4 and #5 is just great, the eye is drawn right into the shot.

Very nice! I love #4 for the composition and tonality, and #1 for the colours in the water especially.

I have a question about your monitor calibration but I guess I should ask in another section...

I do like no.3 - it's so memory-jogging of late winter days in parkland.

Thanks for the comments Embarassed My personal favourites were 4 and 5 - I think 5 was the best when I did the B/W conversion, but 4 illustrates the winter mood somewhat better.
