Orio, Carsten - Believe me, the mirror on 5D MkII is EASIER to shave - rather then 5D --
The mirror on 5D MkII is made from plastic - it can be scratched but it's more flexible therefore, no too much prone to break.
I have shave my mirror and I have recently shaved mirror on customer's 5D MkII  - with no problem!
Do it slowly and calmly and concentrate ..
