Thanks all for your friendly comments.

@ Peter - there is a lot of equipment I do not own Laughing Laughing Laughing

@ Tobias - 80 % is done only with ACR, no additional software needed, only with "Verlaufsfilter" und "Korrekturpinsel". Try it out.

With ACR you have a really great toolbox for PP.

Indeed beautiful catch Shocked ....on my taste is the PP just a little bit too much, especialy the black background who "cut" the flower (quite difficult to explain with my bad english Embarassed )....anyway, I suppose that was the effect what you were looking for!
What is "ACR" Confused ?

Thanks Pascal.

ACR = Adobe Camera Raw = Raw converter comes with CS5

Here a link of other flower shots like this one. Just another way to show nice flowers.

Very nice photo of the flower. The purple tone and yellow heart so nice to look at.

Very nice Rolf !
I like the comosition with a lot of black surrounding the flower.

I just when out to check our Clematis but there's still nothing... Crying or Very sad
Earth is very dry here. Maybe it had bad effect on the flower.

Many thanks for your friendly comments.

@ Olivier

maybe that this is a very early version. I have also another one beside and there is nothing at the moment too.

It was very dry here the last 2-3 weeks too, but it seems that we will get some rain this night and the rest of this week. The risk of forest fires is here on the highest level and the fire brigades have a lot to do.

Didn´t read a longer time anything from you. Everything under control ? Any new lenses or cams ? Bought last week a Nikkor 3,5-4,5/35-70mm AIS at my dear dealer. Nothing special but the price was very good (!) including a special anti flare filter. The filter alone has the worth I paid for both.

regards

Wink

very creatively put together shot rolf. i especially like the pp, as it adds a sense of drama to the rendering, as if the flower is suspended against gravity in a black hole...

also, this lens rivals the planar 85/1.4 in sharpness and color--i never thought i'd say that about another lens!

Everything's ok, Rolf. Wink
I hope the same for you.

I was quite busy and didn't have much time for anything else.
I didn't catch anything new nor even looked at something.

I shot some pictures in my garden and quite a lot with my AF lenses. You know what ? MF lenses are a very good trainee. I found that my pictures were far better with my AF lenses now, especially with my Canon EF 100mm f2.8 macro (non IS). I took very sharp photos with it and one of my daughters was impressed by the IQ when cropped 100%.
The 5D MkII is really a very, very good cam.

Do you still have your dayly walks with the dog and photo equipment ?
Is everything fine for you and family ? Smile
