...also one shot with the 5D + SMC Pentax-F* 300mm f/4.5 ED [IF]. Guess which shot was made with the ED (APO) glass? Smile

All of them are considerable crops, in not so good light. I don't consider them masterpieces but I just wanted to show what can be done with older non-APO glass.

Very nice photographs. I would be very happy to make bird-shots like these !

for me #1 and last photograph are best.

#1 looks definitly more 2D than #6.
#6 has a bit of 3D feel

Cheers
Tobia

I'd say #6 is the F*300 Smile

The European Robin is completely different than our (North American) Robin...there is only one other bird which resembles it on the continent, actually. The European species almost looks like it belongs to the sparrow family...

Those are also House Sparrows...unless you call them finches in Europe Embarassed Our House Finches are like so http://www.pbase.com/richarda/image/28929831 But our (annoying) House Sparrows are exactly like yours Smile

I must admit I got the name completely wrong... Not sure why I typed that name, but apart from the European Robin those are indeed House Sparrows... Mea Culpa! Embarassed
