This was shot at an experimental lighting workshop. I wasn't actually shooting the model, but whilst the photog and his lighting assitant were fiddling with lights I grabbed my light stand with umbrella attached (camera left) and took a few quick snaps. I know 50mm on FF camera isn't recommended for head shots, but I was hoping for a little distorsion as I thought it suited the look.

Model: Laura Ruffell

I like it, but the lip color does not work for me. Here eyes are great!

Martin, sorry I didn't see this earlier. Putting the model's lip-art aside, I think you absolutely nailed the photograph. The lighting and the "vignetting" looks superb (is that a lighting effect or did you add it later?) The Tak hasn't caused all that much facial distotriton, I think it looks great.

I like it! it's an unusual portrait (not the dejavus we've seen again and again on the net) and it's nice. Well done!

Thanks for the comments.

Peter - The Vignette was apparent in the original shot, but I added more in PP.

Martin, I really like this photo. There's a great composition of S shapes. Both from the top bow around her face and hand to the left and from the other bow around to her shoulder. Her expression is really captivating. The vignette works too.

Maybe it is my monitor or intentional but I think it's very slightly overexposed especially under her right eye. If you pulled it down slightly then the er lipstick under the lipstick would be more pronounced against her skin. You might lose definition in the blacks though.

Perfection, really ! Great Popart-like colors ... love the lips Laughing

It's deliberately boosted in PP to give a high-key look.

Very nice makeup Martin
In my humble opinion the vignette would work better with the bright face if the vignette was to white instead of to black

(if you think about it, it makes sense - you overexpose for a high key look, so dark corners do not fit in)

Thanks Orio - I'll try that on the similar others.
