Made another batch of Thornton's yesterday to dev this recent roll out of
one of the Mamiyaflexes:

decided to include this last pic of the cat as I liked his expression

This roll was a test to see if the Thornton's was working properly and I've
liked how it has performed in the past with TMAX 400.

5 mins each bath, 20C, scans at 1200dpi, Epson 4490

Nice scans. Love cat shot most.

I guess all the other posts were lost, thanks, Martin, appreciate your comments.

Your images are very nice.

I have problems setting the software that came with the 4490, do you use the original software or a 3rd party?

This is the third time I have posted this, so two clones may show up later

Greg, it's OK, I can delete them, but I believe they are permanently lost.

I use the OEM software, everything off, in Pro mode. 35mm negs/slides
are scanned at 2400dpi, and 120 film/slides are scanned at 1200dpi. All
sharpening, etc, is done in PS. I also use the OEM filmholders. HTH

I like the effect of the Thornton's two-bath.
Meantime I'll persevere with D-76, just out of sheer laziness Smile

I had an unpleasant surprise today and thank God it wasn't on the wedding
roll. I ran a roll through the 2nd Mamiyaflex (has the 3.5/105 lens) and the
Portra 160NC came back absolutely clear. Looking through the film at the other
vehicles in the Walmart parking lot had just the orange-brown tint to them. Laughing
When I got home, discovered I hadn't locked the lens on the camera
(lever on side of body) and in unlocked position is a plate that comes up to cover
the taking lens, like a dark slide. Shee-yott. One shot I can show on the wedding roll, unrelated:

Dave, I'm missing I think just two ingredients and I could homebrew the
D76, might try it since it will push film. I can make 2 liters of Thornton's in
less than 10 minutes, and it will dev 15-20 rolls before having to make new.

Attila and Orio, thanks!

Dang, nice of them not to put a flag at least or something into the viewing lens when this happens. But a great tip (thanks for learning this for me, though I know I'm fully capable of re-learning it myself Wink) for any potential Mamiyaflex owner.

Jussi, nope, no flag, the viewing lens will happily show you the picture you
won't be taking x12. Wink

Recommend you try a Mam-flex, the close-up capability of that long
bellows should not be discounted. Of course I want a 'blad 501C, it'll just
have to wait. Wink
