We have been at the circus today. I took my trusty Pentax *ist DS with me, with two SMC Pentax-M lenses: the 85mm f/2 and the 35mm f/2. Because of the difficult lighting conditions I have used both lenses wide open. I shot in RAW but it was hard to determine the right white balance (because of the colored stage lights) but I did my best.

We were sitting at the front row, not only because of our kids, but also because of their father, the photographer  Of course, I was not the only photographer but I was the only one to not use a flash. I did not want to kill the atmosphere in my photos.
By the way: it was a small circus; the artist family originates from Germany.

Thank you! It is a fantastic piece of glass but it is also very underrated.

I used ISO 800 in all of them. As you can see the 6MP sensor of the *ist DS isn't very noisy.
