I don't play golf, and don't even know how the thing is called, but on TV I saw golfers put something into earth for setting up the ball for the first shot of a hole? ( on the 'T'? ) - my impression is that it could be just that.

after I had written my guess I looked up and saw that there was just a report on golf running on the Tv in the background..had not been aware of it until after I had guessed Laughing
