the Distagon shots are very very impressive!

dSLRs with their big sensors and great lenses doing video is an incredible, amazing, unexpected leap forward in digital video!

- and as poilu shows in photography as well!

the first picture is TYPICAL RESULT which comes from Distagon 1.4/35

The 3D effect is definitely there!

This lens is simply amazing...

It's definitely a gem by looking at these pictures ...

all I can say - that distagon's 3d. Are the movies themselves as awesome as the stills?

yes, the 3D is even more natural
on movies, most lenses show 3D with the movement
definition is improved, defects blurred,... another dimension
on my wide gamut lcd, colors are breathtaking
for 3D, full frame 5D make a lot; my crop 40D is a level down

one sample of the distagon wide open on the 5DII & 100% crop

This is the third time I am coming back to this thread !

The fountain is AMAZING !

and the cat shot is speaking for itself!

I think the Contax is the one of the best choices for such a camera like 5D Mark II..

poilu,
Hows the experience of focus pulling with a shallow dof video?

PostPosted: Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:17 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Damn, I had a very nice dream last night... I owned a 5D MkII plus the 35mm f/1.5 Distagon, but the alarm clock rudely woke me up Crying or Very sad

Those shots are remarkable, lively and very 3D! Thanks for sharing, but I want more! Cool

I have upload a sample with planar 80 wide open @ 1.4
you can see that focus is not so important in video, movement cover every flaws

Just curious: does anyone here see a different style of dimensionality in the photo that Orio posted that was taken with the 28mm Distagon than with this series of 35mm lens images? I would love to see some side-by-side comparisons between these two wonderful lenses. Of course they are two different focal lengths and that may be the overriding factor in any comparison. Very impressive images Poilu, thanks.
