A Trip with Pentacon Six Part III

After the good dinner I moved to a small hamlet that it pretty still remained untouched for centuries. Its buildings range from XIV to XVII centuries and it's very fascinating: its name is La Scola, near Grizzana Morandi.

Unfortunately weather turned to cloudy and then it rained so the shots have really "dead" colors. I was thinking to turn them to black and white, but I'm open to suggestions.

And an example of B&W conversion (in color it was a lot weaker)

Lovely series. And lovely place. I must visit there.

The last one is perfect in B&W and has a great atmosphere.

I like a lot the muted colours in the previous images (but #2 has a magenta cast that should be corrected in my opinion)

I think they would also work well in B&W, but like I said, I think the muted colours are nice.

Yep you're right. I noted it when seen side by side with others. Strange because I used the same settings as the others, but I noted Provia and Velvia wire to a magenta cast in some occasions of low light.

I think we have finally found something in common: we both love the ancient places! Laughing

Well I'm six examinations away from a bachelor in medieval history. If only everyday life and work would leave me enough free time to complete it Crying or Very sad

Then photography now also kept me busy to be honest but anyway...

Alessandro, In shots like these I almost always find black point, white point and 128 neutral in curves if I can find it. Most of the times it brings the colors right out. I tried it with the first shot and it worked well. Of course I wasn't their to know if the colors are right or not but they should be close. I saved it if you want to see it.

I love the building layout in #4 - that's fascinating.
Pity about the light, but this whole series has shown off the P6 and the Flek50 really well. Thanks.

Thanks I know the procedure but I wanted to keep the colors the closest possible to real film rendition.

Nice series Alssandro.

BTW I have a degree in Ancient History and so all these ancient places (well relatively ancient) are of interest. I also love Italy after living and working there for a period in the 70's - combination makes me a sucker for this kind of work.
