The sun has come over here today!!

I didn't hesitate and took the Angenieux 35 f2.5 lens to try if it's worth of some effort..
and -- I would say -- YES!! .. it's a great piece of optics!! .. I'd call this lens as BIOTAR in 35 mm focal length Smile

Well, the lens lacks of sharpness in the corners, CA also visible but in the middle is simply APO-like performer --
almost ZERO fringing or colour shift either -- it's soft wide open but superb by 5.6 and higher.

The colour rendition is SIMPLY AMAZING and VERY APPEALING TO MY EYES. It has 60's character which I love a lot. Smile (see the picture number 12)

The sharpness is the best in the middle.
The focusing is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT through viewfinder - LiveView on 5D Mark II helps a lot; the reason is incredibly narrow DOF (unexpectedly for lens in the speed such as this).

I am unable to reach infinity because of my EOS-Exakta adapter.

The best orientation is LANDSCAPE -- the soft corners and CA is less noticeable ...
The distortion very well corrected --- please, see the pictures number 2 or 12.

Shooting against sun is simply not a good idea with this lens - flare and ghosts are visible enough.
But this guy may be more than 50 years old Smile.

Mercy, Pierre Angenieux! Wink

Number 2 is a great 3D !

Nice colors, sharpness and detailed pics.
I feel that Angenieux lenses are very good in shadowed conditions.
Facing the sun or bright lights, we need the hood.

The grave is wonderful ! Shocked

Very good Stan, your lens looks very... ingenieux Wink
Plus your usual good pictures.

BTW I just realized now that your daughter looks a lot like the daughter of a childhood friend of mine, he and his family were guests for dinner at my place yesterday. Basically you just switch blond hair with dark brown and you're there Smile

Now this is your normal standard trifox - very very fine pictures, and especially those portraits!

thank you, guys for YOUR NICE WORDS !!

I was really interested in the Angenieux value: if it's only item for collector or it can be used as fully working glass ..

@ Orio. what a coincidence ! I know that this may happen . Smile

Angenieux lenses carry a certain legend and it seems that they have all the reason to do so. Wink
Nice indeed!
