Great results!

How is that lens, Rolf?
It is the one Canon lens that I actually pondered about buying...

Hi Orio,

I sold it in the meantime - not because it was poor only for less usage. I owned the first version, in the meantime a new one is on the market with better results and more capabilities.

If you like to shoot tilt and shift the options are not multifarious. I always was very happy with this lens.

Thanks for your nice comments.

@patrickh
tripod, 3 to 6 or 7 shots always with same aperture (important) but with different expusre times. So you will get a serie from underexposed to overexposed and then Software (like CS3/4, photomatix etc). It used CS3.
You will find it under Automatic/HDR

Rolf, these are very good results, so difference between HDR and DRI is one should hyave different apperture values the other should have different shutter speeds at the same apperture is that correct?

I have photomatix but i don't like photomatix results, i don't find it realistic, so have you stiched them in CS?

@ uzay

Sorry, that´s not correct.

There are 2 variations on the market a) DRI and b) HDR

The basics are always the same. You need few shots of the same object with always the same aperture ( for the same DOF) but with different exposure times.

If you create a DRI the software will calculates with this several images one final result in an automatic way.

If you will create a HDR the software calculates a so named .hdr file which include all the exif information of the single shots. You have then a file with 32-bit information and therefore such a dynamic range that your PC (monitor) is not in a position to show all the details. Therefore it is necessary to do a tonemapping to reduce this high dynamic value (32-bit) to 16-bit (Tiff) or 8-bit (jpeg) so that the monitor can show this new image in a correct way.

The process of tonemapping is not so easy (look at the actual version of photomatix with the lot of option you will have there) and so the chance of "bad" results is high.
