Don't need tripod anything special just shoot many pictures in right order.
Feed autopano with them and result will be great. This is made with Olympus E-1 + Nikkor 20mm f2.8. Today we had exceptional great lights there I met with a nice Japanese gentleman there ( I believe he was Koji  )
he also did surprise how light was just great.
Single image from there over sharpened, due Olympus E-1 not a champion on details at infinity distance.

I did made shoots on slides too for sure, 35mm and 120mm Provia both with Konica FC-1 + Konica 21mm f4, Konica 40mm + Konica 135mm
also with Konica Pearl 4,5x6cm kamera. It will be intresting to see them together from same place. I believe this pano technic outperform single frame slides too.
