Some shots I took in the last month, using the 5D Mark II and the Zeiss "Hollywood".
I love this lens.

Very good results,
The buildings look very 3D. How long were the exposures & did u use any ND filters ?

I think so, because the Distagon 2/28 has much more contrast and sparkle than this when used naturally. The results are nice, however, looking like matte painting in sci-fi movies. I like them. But I don't see the signature of the Distagon in these images.

No, they are not HDR. I just hate automatic HDR's. Smile

I just waited in there for some time, till the right time of the day, before the night fall (in the 3rd shot that was too late), where the dynamic range was the best.
I slightly improved the dynamic range in post-processing, but just in the highlights, since the artificial light was too strong for the sensor. Even a good medium format back would blown them.
The solution was to do some multi exposures while shooting, and merge them manually in the photoshop, just in the place of the blown highlights.
Even the colors are natural.

dakoo,
Between 15-30 seconds, at f/16 I believe.
No ND filters were used, since the light was just fine at that time. I was buying some stuff in a supermarket near the place, while waiting, and I had to run a lot, after I realized the night was coming.

orio,
When you have such strong lights in front of you, it doesn't matter how contrasty the lens is, because you'll loose contrast. Wink
In the first shot there were cars passing in front of the camera for 20 seconds.
Of course the Distagon 28mm is a contrasty lens by nature, but I still wouldn't want these imagens to have too much contrast.

About the sci-fi factor, that was the idea of Santiago Calatrava, not mine. Laughing

Very nice shots! Did you have any issues with mounting this lens on your 5D II? I'm in the market for this lens and I've seen a couple of comments in other places saying it won't work. Clearly it's working for you but I'm interested if you had much difficulty. Thanks.

Puts me in mind of a 50's comic book cover. Really out of this world

Excellent work and an interesting approach to processing, very distinctive.
