I would say: B&W is B&W.

But this raises a thought: has anyone tried b&w slide film? I've seen it mentioned here and there, but it is obviously a pretty rare thing...

Haven't seen a strictly BW slide film. Doesn't the Dr5 gang make a slide
from regular BW film?

I'd have no hesitation putting them here. They might use colour tech and chemistry, but they're still mono in their own right.

ilford XP2
Fuji Neopan 400CN

... and B&W slides like
Agfa Scala 200X
and Fomapan R 100.

this is non-digital B&W record.
There is no colour information.
by definition this is B&W photography.
par exemple
this is combination of b&w slide and XP2 edited in enlarger
and chemically processed.

B&W film is B&W film, Bill, no matter how you develop it. You can also develop it in orange juice if you wish. Laughing

What does not belong here is computer B&W

Basically whatever you do with B&W film and chemicals belongs here.

Speaking about the C41 B&W film.

I like to use the Iford XP2 Super at ISO 320.

Somebody told me that the Kodak C41 is better film in acutance (well, more sharpness sensation), but the ilford is better to scan.

Anybody knows about these?

Orange juice sounds like it might make an interesting tint. lol I swore off
chemicals in my college days...oh you mean developing chemicals, Ahhhh.

Rino, I blew out a whole roll of XP2 in one of my Exaktas. The roll came
out clear with no pictures. Mad I must have locked the shutter and only
heard the mirror thinking I was taking a picture. I've seen some very nice
pics with XP2.
