Congrats Bill. Now you have a backup camera. Do you already have this lense or will this be another lense to try?

PostPosted: Sat Jul 11, 2009 11:46 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Jes and Ron, thanks!

Ron, the wide lens is what I was after, it completes my set of lenses I
want for the Koni. I will now have the wide (58mm is same as this 60mm)
the normal 90mm, and the tele 180mm. And a spare body to boot! I can't
wait to try both the lens and the second body. It will probably stay on this
camera permanently. I've seen some spectacular landscape and architecture shots done with this lens!

I can't believe the shots you have got with it. Its really quite a camera.

Ron, will be posting pics ASAP, thanks.

BTW, the 58/60 lens is equivalent to 28mm on 35mm format.

Looks to be well maintained Bill....I've always wanted one of those myself...

Congrats Bill, you have your wide lens now and you also have two bodies, one to load with colour the other one to load with black and white, I can't think of a more perfect solution!

Scott and Orio, thanks! I'm really stoked, can't wait to try it! Smile Trying to
decide if Portra 160VC or 800 will be the first roll. Slide is out, not going to
wait two weeks to see what I have. Wink

Sweet Bill!
It's so fun that you are working with this platform .
The shots you have so far are really impressive.
Now with a second body and full set of FL choices, I'm really curious to see what you come up with.
It's really great to finally find a system that "clicks".
I feel this way about Small format rf's.
Happy for you that you locked in on the Koni Very Happy

@ Scott
I love the new Avatar
you look really happy!

Ah it was you who won that - I was watching. Congratulations... let me know if you need a Series VII keeper, next time I'm at the camera show I can pick one up for you.

Nice score, Bill. Prices seem to have got a bit sensible.

Congrats Bill,
I used the Portra 800 and was very surprised with the lack of graniness. I expected it to be very grainy but surprise, surprise . .it's very clean.

Does the Koni have a light meter or what meter are you using if it doesn't?

Jules

Thanks, fellas, the auction ended at around 5:30pm on a Saturday, that is
a most propitious time if you're a buyer! Laughing Two hours later and it would
have been different story.

Nesster, you're on, and thanks for the offer!

Andy, hope to see some of your Zeiss Ikon shots some time, fabulous
camera system.

Poilu, at first look at this camera I didn't know if I would get on with it. Turns
out to be just the thing for me!

Dave, it comes and goes with this camera, sometimes there's a feeding
frenzy (especially for the all-black Rapids) that pump up the price.

Jules, for metering it's just the sun at my back during the day, and the
moon and stars at night, actually, just a handheld meter, but I'm OK with
that, have lots of cameras (like my Exaktas) with no meters, or ones that
are broken (like my Konica T4s). According to the write-up @ Freestyle,
the 800 really comes into its own in the 120 size, will soon see. I was
quite happy with the results in the 35mm.

Thanks again, fellas.

Bill

Thanks, Carsten, I need to do some reading on what all those color filters
do for B&W shots.

You could simply see - if you use photoshop or elements, you can download "virtual photographer" for free. It is fun to play with, as for the b&w conversion you can try out different 'filters', color shifts, and so on. My favorite free program.

Already there, Nesster, been using VP for over a year now, great program.
That and SmartCurve are plugins to my PSE 4.0.

Great find--congrats!

Are the lenses of the Koni-Omega interchangeable with those of the later Rapid Omega 100/200?

Dof, yes, that is what I was told, all Koni lenses fit all Koni cameras.
