I am getting a bit used to my SMC A100/2.8 Macro.

Several shots of today. Some are a bit noisy, I choos for high ISO because it was quite a windy day today ...

Great photos. I can clearly see the footprint of my SMC Pentax-F 100mm f/2.8 macro. While an AF lens, it's optically the same.

And yes, wind is the worst enemy of a macroist Wink

Thanks Spotmatic !

As far as I know they have a optically different formula.
...
Just checked in Dimitrov's K-mount page:
http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/lenses/primes/short-tele/index.html

SMC F 100/macro is 9 elements in 8 groups
SMC A 100/macro is 7-7

Sorry, I got my facts wrong Smile

In fact, I checked that a few years ago, but I'm getting old it seems Smile

No problem Smile
Anyhow, this 2 lenses produce very similar results from comparison photographs what I saw. I wanted to buy the F100 version first before I had luck with this crazy ebay-snap with the A100.

Great! Number 1 is my favourite, too. The noise doesn´t trouble me at all, at least with pictures this size.

Tobbsman - one extreme to the other, from widest angles panoramas to narrow macros! #1 for me definitely

This gives me "hope" for my own SMC Pentax 100/4 macro! Smile

The first image is definitely the REAL keeper, I agree with the others. The beautifully colored out-of-focus background, with the specular lights showing, is fantastic.

NICE work all around.

Love #1.
Hopefully the weather is fine so that I can go out and shoot some macro this weekend. It has been too long since I last shoot macro.

Thanks all !

Yes the SMC K 100/4 macro has good reputation. From weight it's a bit inbetween the heavy Takumar and the lighter M version.
I think it stopps down to f32 which allows long macro exposures ...
