The tutorial shows a EOS mount conversion. How did you make it for C/Y?

I didn't had a spare M42-EOS and I didn't wanted to reduce the mount shim
I was afraid to pass infinity or not be // without second chance
so I replaced the mount shim with a C/Y body cap

Excellent results. This is said to be one to the best f1.2 lenses.

And you dug a hole in the body cap, I assume (?)

Very Crafty Razz

So will you make it into M42 or C/Y metal mount.
I think I will make mine a M42 when I get him here.
The Rokkor looks fun on the RTS III.

It is a good idea to make M42-mount Rokkor 58/1.2, I should've done it this way.
I did the same thing too > http://www.pbase.com/kkawakami/mctoef_mount_conversion

I modified 58/1.2, 50/1.4 (PF), and 85/1.7 to EF mount. Wink

I don't have the lens, but should I buy one, I would have it modified to C/Y mount, because this way I would use it on both my Contax and EOS cameras.

I agree Orio only with a twist.
I think with M42 it can be used with C/Y, Eos, or even with a Pentax (k10d?).

HAve you ever tried a M42 to CY adapter Andy?
I didn't, because I was afraid it would not reach infinity.

For M42 I don't know if it is possible because the rear element is 38mm and should move freely in the m42 screw mount
To make it metal mount, I guess I have to sacrifice a cheap vivitar or kiron with C/Y mount Twisted Evil

I use my m42 lens on the contax 167 without problem

Yes, I have and have had very good luck.
Pentax and Yashica both made a nice effort when they changed to bayonet.
Both of those bayonet mounts where designed to have transparent (other than auto aperture) conversion with lenses in their respective older lines.
