Bought a NEX 5 with 18-55 kit lens and made the update to V4. Unfortunately I do not have at the moment any adapter to NEX so I tried the kit lens in MF modus with this new feature.
I´m really surprised and very impressed how good this feature performs. Hopefully Panasonic and Olympus will implement such a feature in their m4/3 firmware too.

you're right , it's somewhat odd , but , try to hold under the lens , flip up the LCD and support it against your chest (or belly) . I find very convenient to shoot like that ( and almost unperceived by the others ) _________________ Cheers , Teo

Yep - I´m really a little bit "excited". Can´t wait until the adapter will arrive - hopefully I have not to wait too long.

5D is a way way better than any mirrorless camera,
and Nex is not the best mirrorless out there.

In my opinion do it, take a NEX, an EOS-NEX adapter available on market you can use all EOS adapter what you have. I did also not jump on 5D reason was exactly what you said. !!!! Focusing on LCD pretty nasty!!! First try it out in a shop before sell your 5D, I have an LCD viewer as focusing aid which is big but make it to pleasant focusing device. Another alternative is SAMSUNG NX10, it has excellent EV finder and know almost everything what NEXT offer. _________________ -------------------------------

The 5D is still better for image quality and full frame goodness, but the Nex is VERY versatile! _________________ Graham - Moderator

No doubt in that, but how often do you log the 5D around, now that you have the Nex, which is lighter and easier to focus? _________________ Canon 5D, Jupiter 11A 135mm f/4, Soligor (Tokina) 105mm f/2.8, Nikon 55mm f/1.2 S-Auto, Sigma MF 50mm f/2.8 Macro, Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 MC, Olympus Zuiko 28mm f/2.8 MC |

Of course, but you wouldn't compare a 5D to a 1000D either, would you? _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Good comments guys!
The Nex is perfect for slipping in my small case with a fast 35mm lens (or 40/1.8 Konica soon!) when going to parties, gigs, football and that sort of thing. That said, I have no problem with lugging a rucksack around with the 5D and about 10 lenses in I go everywhere I'm allowed to go with it _________________ Graham - Moderator
