Orio, funny indeed!

Most of the product photographers I've know always are concerned with getting "good" skin detail when shooting people.

I can't tell you how many jobs I reshot for art directors who had hired product shooters to photograph people. That was pre-photoshop when retouching was very expensive.

Initially I thought, "Oh, overexposed". But then I realised that was intentional and when I looked at them objectively, the effect was rather good. It lends a really summery, field of daisies, feel to the pics, and the subject isn't washed out. It's maybe more than I would go for personally, but it works.

Anyway, the lens, back to the lens. I like this lens. I might keep an eye out for it, since I have a small P6 kit and have its 80mm brother - the 120mm would be handy.

No reason to be upset and to react against the administrators. My reply was not addressed to your comment. In fact I did not even notice that you mentioned 'high key'.

Point taken. I'm not upset. I was referring mostly to the comment by MartinSmith99 who is a moderator not an admin so I didn't get that right either. Crying or Very sad
I wouldn't take too much notice of me....nobody else does. Laughing

I think it's quite a common thing to call bright images high-key. I was just being pedantic....as usual (I'll say it before Graham does). Razz

Your monitor is calibrated?

I guess his monitor is calibrated, because those images are really very, very bright.
On first sight I also would say, they are over-exposed.
Of course, you can call it "high-key", because most of the details are still there.
I still would prefer the pics a little darker.

I quite like them although I prefer the first set, kinda reminds me of late 60's early 70's models Twiggy, Shrimpton etc

Thanks. It was a joke. My monitor is very well calibrated Wink ... in my prepress work is important.
In B&W photography overexposed images looks better for my taste. An example attached, of your permission...

The second series is nice but the first one is fantastic, she's got a million dollar smile. Nicely captured of course, I love the style, poses and composition.

We may have to rename the thread "superiour Russian Girls". Laughing

Wow, What a discussion!
Thank you very much everyone for the feedback! I am glad that the pictures at least not leave you indifferent!
Kristina good worked, it is very pleasant to shoot!
Of course, this is not high key. High key looks more like this (model Irina):

As I said I like the artistic effect of overexposure in the relevant cases. Thank you!

If you are interested, I'll show you another series of portraits by different manual lenses.

I do appreciate your photos. This last one of Irina is exceptional. Do show more... but maybe the Digital Images forum would be a better place for pictures of a theme from different lenses, especially if the picture is the subject and not the lens.

Overexpose was made during shooting. Not any postproduction. Only resize. Thanks.

What wonderful portraits!

This lens sure is superior Smile

Personally I like the slight overexposure, and think that it only adds some artistism to the photos.

Woww ... gorgeous shots, very good lens and very cute models.

I like your overexposed/high-key style. It looks great in my monitor.

This technique is absolutely normal in fashion photography and a good way to make people look good. Nothing wrong with it, it's just a styling.

I like more the first set (especially no.4-10 and 12-13) , it's more rich in compositions and poses . Very good ones ! And the high key style suits very well the model .However ,your pictures aroused big interest , wich is good Wink I can't see Irina's picture here .
