My surname begins with G so I felt I had somehow marked my territory
Said G was shot with mobile phone and sent to friends who would find it humourous...

What a pity for the poor cam, anyway I'd have done the same, straight to the bin...
It happens to me quite often (not with a cam but with the teethbrush, that is easier to replace).
Maybe the poor cam should desserve a good burial...

If you guys will ever have such accident again try to do the following:
1) remove all batteries from such camera
2) immerse it in fresh clean water; replace it few times as mentioned earlier; keep it immersed until you get enough of 97%-99% pure ethyl or isopropyl alcohol (try to do that fast)
3) pour all water
4) immerse it in alco; let it stay for a while
5) take it away from that bath (you can keep alco for another accident)
5) let it dry (you may dissemble that thing to some extent to help with drying)
After that camera may need relubing but it should be rust and condensation free... |

I think pavko meant "while you get sufficient", not "until you get enough of"".
We have hundreds of members on the forum, the majority probably, for whom English is a foreign language. I am continually struck by how well they cope with it, and all of us English speakers should feel extremely lucky that we don't have that problem. It behoves us to be tolerant and understanding if they slip up now and again. _________________ Peter - Moderator |
