You know, at this point you are probably the worlds leading authority on 35mm portrait lenses ?

I can't imagine who would have tried so many of them.

So, which one is your favorite?
Let's put in another way.
if you were to keep only 2 lenses from the list, which one would you keep?
And why..? Very Happy

Carl Zeiss Biotar 75mm f1.5, Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 1.8/80mm

Both are very sharp even at wide open, both has beautiful color rendering and Biotar has a very own character. Pancolar more like modern lenses like Contax lenses.

Any good place to search and buy these lenses?
Is Ebay the only option?

Mostly yes.
I bought two of them of my Biotars on Ebay. No difference if seller has good feedbacks. Like Exaklaus or other well know seller on ebay.

Biotar 75mm f1.5 one of the rarest lenses and not sitting much time on shelf, you need a big luck to buy in shop.

But Ive seen M42 copy of B 1.5/75 in one shop in Europe.. Smile
eBay is better way to get this lens anyway..

The number says 75, so, let me know if I have this king of the SHARPNESS..

No , you have later issue a bit. I have this type of Biotar labeled 7,5cm and king of sharpness, but anyway difference is really little every Biotar 75 is unbelievable sharp at wide open.
You have a rare exclusive lens, take care of it much as you can!

Made in 1951 right after war, suppose to be a good copy, 2/58mm around equal Helios-44. No big difference.
