Picture taken with Sony NEX-3 & SEL 2.8/16.
Cropped in PS.
Upper image no PP whatsoever.
Lower image three clicks in NIK Color Efex 3.

Amazing result, isn't it?

Great results yes; looks like detail recovery from shadows, highlight saves and some levels/contrast plus removal of color cast. Nicely done, not too much of any.

More saturation and contrast.

Colors definitely 'pop' more and enhances detail. Nice, Carsten!

I haven't came across a program from Nik which isn't top notch.

They're powerful programs but they are expensive (I guess that is the "pro contrast" adjustment).

Very true. I am in the great situation that I got some of those tools from my school where I work as a teacher (among other subjects I teach IT) and from university where I used to teach at (in courses like New Media for Teachers for example).

I would never spend so much money on a collection of software filters, I guess.

The only disadvantage is that you have more noise now Wink
Care should be taken especially when increasing contrast in the highlights. It is one of the main reasons why I tweak contrast in Viveza.

Noise is not the only disadvantage - I don´t like the trees in the foreground left an right in the edges. Seems NIK try to make the shadows a bit brighter, what I do not like here.

But the NIK programms are very often helpfull, I use Silver Efex Pro and Viveza.

The noise in the sky is the same, it's more visible now. Wink

And the trees? Yes, but it would have been easy to avoid that.
That image is a "3-click-improvement" that took me about 10 seconds.
